The Club will have a stand at the BHP Show on 2 May 2011

The 2011 BHP has just got better, “Free” entrance for the first 25.

Yes; Kent Car Club is going to pay for the first 25 members on the Club Stand

This year we have made some improvements:

Four Seasons Marquee Company are going to supply and put up a large marquee the day before.

As this is purposely made it will withstand any weather and we will not have to start so early in the morning.

We also will have somebody to help with serving and making refreshments throughout the day.

This means that every member can enjoy the day without feeling they should participate in some of the tasks.

There will be KCC cash prizes for the best presented cars on the day (this applies to the KCC stand and members only)

You decide the winner, each member attending the show will vote for the best vehicles on the KCC stand.

Prizes will be for:

    The best presented car £100

    The best project car £100

The best trade presented car £100

The best trade project car £100

    The outstanding show vehicle £100

We think by introducing more categories everyone stands a chance of winning, whether it is a:
standard saloon, a custom sports car, a DIY project , super trade entry or a monster 4 x4.
We just want to make it a bit of fun on the day.

The Rebels will be attending in their new Kent Car Club outfits, and will present the prizes at 3pm, at the club marquee on the day

Cars on the stand (Club stand/area only) and their “driver” will have “Free” entrance.
All Club members will have the use of the marquee and complimentary drinks and food all day.
Passengers are charged £15 entrance fee by the BHP organisers and will be able to use the club stand facilities.
Passengers will need to pay their entrance fee directly to the organisers at the gate on the day

We have also invited the Ashford photography Society to come along to this event and hopefully they will produce some more unusual photographs of your cars on the stand.

More information

The stand

I always remember the first time I went to a show and was told that my car would be on the Stand. I felt this degree of panic set in as I imagined the stand being something like the London Motor Show, with gleaming white spotlights.
My mind was quickly put at rest when I was told that the Stand was a large area of flat ground that all the club cars could park together on.
This is exactly what we have reserved, an area of flat ground on one of the terraces leading down to the pits where cars gain access onto the track.

Club Marquee for members and club guests

The general idea of it is to give you somewhere to: casually socialise, sit down to get something to eat and drink and a bit of shelter if needed.
Because we booked early we will have an electricity supply that will be used for hot drinks and some appropriate music.
There will be a limited amount of seating, so if you want to guarantee a seat please bring it with you.
Articles from the club shop and access to the clubs website will also be available.

What do the organisers of the bhp show say:

With 4 hours of live ‘on track’ action demos and 5 hours of public track time the event is full with non-stop track action that keeps everyone's eyes glued to the circuit.
A variety of motorsport and Performance cars perform demonstrations of Drifting, Time Attack, Rallycross, Group B & Group A Rallycars, Circuit Racing, Oval Racing and High Powered sprint cars making it a fun day for all the family

When you need a break from the adrenalin filled demonstrations you can take a walk around the paddock and view the fantastic display of enthusiasts cars who come from all corners of the country some individually, but many from some of the longest standing and highest repected car clubs around.

Take the day to a different level with TrackTime

If you want to take the day to a different level, why not try your car around the track a few times, it is up to you. You will get lots of support from other club members who will be on the stand and hopefully some good photographs to remember the day.

We cannot stress enough that if you want Track-Time you will have to book it well in advance of the May 2010 BHP performance show. Last year the BHP show sold out of Track-Time very quickly and there were lots of disappointed people.

For those of you who want to book track time you will have to complete a form that can be downloaded from here: ... 202009.pdf

Complete the downloaded form and return it as quickly as possible to Jay at the address below. Do not forget to say you are a Kent Car Club Member and will be on the stand. If you have any problems contact me and I will help you.
Tracktime is £15.00 in advance and £20.00 on the day, each session will last 15mins. Helmets at a rate of £10 per day. Full Uk driving licence is required.

Hi everyone just a quick update

There will be a photographer’s competition run in conjunction with Kent Car Club and Ashford Photography Society.
A prize will be put up by Kent Car Club for the best photographs taken of cars on the Kent Car Club stand by a member of Ashford Photography Society

St. Mary's Bay Photography Club will also be attending separately.
We are pleased to say that they will be holding another competition in conjunction with Kent Car Club.
Another prize will be put up by Kent Car Club for the best photographs taken on the Kent Car Club stand by a member of St. Mary's Bay Photography Club

Both clubs will have use of the Club marquee which will have free refreshments all day.
I know you will make them feel most welcome and help them to take photographs on the Club stand.

Important update
Please read this carefully and remember your personal ticket reference number.

Because the organisers of the BHP show have had last-minute problems with the printing of the show tickets we will be allocating tickets on arrival.

Each driver attending the show will receive BY POST a Stand Pass and a unique reference number beginning with “KCC” followed by a number. Display this reference number on the top left-hand side of your window screen “”before”” arriving at the circuit gate.

David wearing a yellow jacket with “Kent Car Club” on it will be looking for these reference numbers in the queue coming into the circuit.

He will give you your “BHP ticket” to go through the barrier with; the organisers will not let you through the barrier without the BHP ticket.

Please have your Kent Car Club stand pass on display behind the dashboard “before” reaching the stand

The Kent Car Club stand is the full width of the left-hand side of the paddock. Just follow the tarmac road from the entrance down the hill to the bottom and turn left.

When you arrive at the stand Kent Car Club marshals will guide you to your parking space using your stand number that you will have on display behind your window screen. Please stay with your car until the Marshall reassures you that it is parked and lined up correctly.

So it couldn’t be simpler,

1) Display your ticket reference number that you will receive by post on your window screen ( top left-hand side)

2) Kent Car Club marshal will give you your BHP ticket

3) Proceed to the main gate keeping left present your BHP ticket to the organisers

4) Proceed down the hill with your stand pass on display behind the window screen

5) When you arrive at the stand wait for a Kent car club marshal to direct you to your parking space

Remember all the marshals and workers in the marquee are volunteers.

Arrive between 7.30 and 8.45
