It was a tough decision to make but we have chosen to select three cars again for the best presented cars at the March 7th ‘Sunrise Club’ event. The turn out of vehicles was awesome and the full photo gallery will appears shortly.
Due to no previous winners attending the event, it was down to myself and Top Gear to select those cars that we felt were most deserving of the 2 £25 gift vouchers. Drawn between three cars as to who should win, we finally decided to also include a runners up prize as per the January event.
The winning cars have come as quite a surprise to both of us as the Mark 3 Toyota MR2 does not appeal to either of us, and I personally dislike big cars like the BMW’s. However to have won these prizes shows that no matter what the vehicle is, if it has that something special about it, it can overcome the judges bias to win!
The three best presented cars are as follows:
1) Silver Mark 3 Toyota MR2 (£25)
2) White Honda NSX (£25)
3) Blue BMW (A Kent Car Club coffee mug and Pen)
To claim your prize please send a private message to Top Gear via our forum.
We now have a number of trophies to be awarded to ‘Best Presented Car’ winners, full details are currently on the forum, however watch the homepage for the full details of what we have planned for later in the year.
Here are the winning cars in all their glory!
One week until this event takes place!
This event is going to be one for the hardened petrol heads, starting at Sunrise on Sunday 7th March at 6:30pm sharp! Three whole hours of driving across Kent with a couple of photo stops on the way, this is definitely not one to be missed.
As always, here are the key details that you should note in your diary:
Date: Sunday 7th March
Start Time: 6:30am
End Time: 9:30am
Meeting Location: M20 – Junction 8
Ending Location: Oakdene Cafe – Junction 3 of M20
As always, we will be taking photos of all cars in attendence and again there will be the ‘best presented car’ prize for the cars that stand out the most. If you want to follow the discussion and sign up, please check our our forum.
This will be the club’s first show and what a way to start, at one of the biggest shows (Lydden, Kent). Last year the show had over 11,000 visitors and the organisers tell me they are expecting even more this year. This is not only the club’s first show, it will be the first show that I have helped to organise. I want to make it something special for the members who attend, so we have a genuine friendly club atmosphere on the stand. This show is open to all makes and models which will give us the opportunity to work with other clubs again.
There will be a Club marquee (8m x 4m) where members and club guests can mix socially and use as a base. Soft drinks, food, and music will be available. There will be a limited amount of seating, so if you want to guarantee a seat please bring it with you. Articles from the club shop and access to the clubs website will also be available. As I said in the beginning, this is the first show that I have helped to arrange and I hope to get support from some of the other members. I will be booking the stand on 1st February to guarantee we get one and that we get one with electricity.
Passengers are charged £15 entrance fee by the BHP organisers and will be able to use the club stand facilities. Passengers will need to pay their entrance fee directly to the organisers at the gate on the day.
For up to the minute details on how to sign up and take part in this amazing event, please follow the discussions on our forum and read the official BHP Show website!
We have finally sorted through our photos and have managed to select at least one photograph of each vehicle that attended the event on 24th January.
Feel free to ask for higher quality photographs if you see one you like, or if you have any other requests please contact an administrator on the club forum. The full gallery can be seen below and is also accessible alongside our other event photographs in the Photo Gallery page from the top menu.
Following from the incredibly successful event yesterday, where 21 cars turned out to sample some of the best roads Kent have on offer, Tom.H from our forum chose 2 cars to win ‘Best Presented Cars’ and a runner up. The competition was tough due to the quality of vehicles on display. Read on to find out who the winners were and to see a photo of each car!
He had a very difficult job as there were so many well presented cars. Tom has given a lot of thought and consideration to his decision looking at every make and model on display from different perspectives. The variety of cars that attended made his job so difficult that we have decided to have a runner-up token prize as well for this multiple club event
We are pleased to announce the winners of the best presented car for the January meeting are, in the following winning order.
1) The Silver Subaru estate (£25)
2) The Blue VX 220 Vauxhall (£25)
3) The Red 200 SX as runner-up ( A Kent Car Club coffee mug and Pen)
Congratulations to the winners!
To claim your prizes please send Top Gear a message via the forum along with your address details.
Now for the photos:
Following on from the success of our first club meet, we are now looking to hold our next event on Sunday 24th January.

All marques of car are invited this time around, as, although Kent Car Club is for Japanese enthusiasts, this event is being held in association with the Kent Car Owners Club, which can be found at www.kc-oc.co.uk.
Here are the key details:
Date: Sunday 24th January
Starting Location: M20 – Junction 8 Services

As we’ve now got a good number of people signed up we’re looking to hold our first club event on Sunday 13th December.
All cars that attend will have photos taken (with owners consent) to be used on this website – whoever arrives with the best presented car will be in with a chance of winning one of two £25 Halfords vouchers! The only stipulation is that you must be a registered member of the club to win!
Date: Sunday 13th December
Starting Location: Ivy Lane Car Park – Central Canterbury
End Location: The Tiger Inn – Ashford
The format will be a 1 – 2 hour drive on some of the better roads of Kent at a leaisurely pace, driving to the weather conditions but the main purpose is so we can all meet and discuss where we want the club to go from this point onwards in terms of both events and our website.
Hopefully we will get some reasonable photos of club cars too for posting across the new website.

Even if you read this and have yet to sign up, feel free to come along anyway – we are a friendly bunch and we do not anticipate a large turn out given the time of year. All we ask is that you arrive in a Japanese import car of some description to go along with the car club theme.
Following the successful event at the Folkestone race course, a number of photos have been entered on our forum!
Some of the cars that have been photographed can be seen below:
